We had Dua who was coming back off of a race, she was the filly to beat. I had a lot of faith and confidence in this filly, she has been working phenomenally, Michael is doing a great job. The best part of the filly is her mentality, everything she does she makes it look like an older filly she does nothing like she’s two years old, everything is looking bright for her future.”

MICHAEL MCCARTHY, SANDY BOTTOM, WINNER: “That was great today all summer long she had kind of trained like a filly that was well meant, very forward, very classy. I thought closing weekend at Del Mar we would win any race and it was her maiden race, she delivered on that. Came back trained wonderfully. Today it seemed like she caught a flier. I was pleasantly surprised she put herself where she did. Umberto seemed in command up the backside, it was nice to see him put a little daylight in between him and everyone else coming to the quarter pole. That other filly was coming a little bit late but we had plenty in the tank to hold on.

“We will keep her at one turn for now, I believe there is a stake in a few weeks time at Del Mar around one turn that may be something to think about. I think six and a half, seven would be her limit. We will find out.”
