$2 PICK 6 CARRYOVER OF $36,681 AWAITS HORSEPLAYERS SUNDAY AT SANTA ANITA

ARCADIA, CA (Oct. 19, 2024)— A Pick Six carryover of $36,681 awaits horseplayers on an eight-race card Sunday at Santa Anita. The pool is estimated to approach $500,000.

First post Sunday is 1 p.m. PT. The $2 Pick Six starts with the third race at approximately 2 p.m.

In Saturday’s Pick Six sequence, only two favorites found the Winner’s Circle. In the opening leg, the fourth race, Tim Yakteen-trained Chilly Philly scored as the longest shot on the board under apprentice jockey Serafin Carmona and paid $35.20. In the eighth race, the featured $80,000 Lure stakes, Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella and Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith teamed to win with Sumter as the 4-1 third choice. Then in the anchor leg, Dean Pederson-trained Musical Number, ridden by Tiago Pereira, scored as the 6-1 fourth choice and paid $14.

The consolation payout for tickets with 5-of-6 correct selections was $2,015.40.

The winning horses in Saturday’s Pick Six beginning with the fourth race were #4 Chilly Philly ($37.20), #2 Joint Venture ($3.80), #1 Caribbean King ($7.40), #5 My Kathryn Rose ($8.60), #4 Sumter ($10.80), #2 Musical Number ($14.00).
