ROSE PARADE HITS HOME AT SANTA ANITA AS JOCKS’ ROOM VALET DELGADILLO WATCHES HIS DAUGHTERS MARCH ON TELEVISION
ARCADIA, Calif. (Jan. 6, 2023)--Although he couldn’t be there, Santa Anita Jockey Room Valet Bruno Delgadillo was beaming with pride on Monday afternoon, as he was able to watch on television as his two daughters performed in Monday’s Rose Parade in Pasadena.
With first post time at Santa Anita on Monday at 12 noon and a Rose Parade crowd in excess of 100,000, Delgadillo, who was formerly a longtime exercise rider for Richard Mandella, was unable to attend in-person, but deputized his wife Antonia, who accompanied their daughters Jessica, 17 and Venessa, 15 on their unforgettable experience as part of a select group of high school musicians marching in the Rose Parade.
“Yes, I saw them marching on TV, so that was great,” said Delgadillo between races on Monday. “My wife was there with them and she got some videos, so I’m anxious to get home tonight and see everything. We’re very proud of them and it’s something we will always remember.”
Both girls currently attend Huntington Park High School, where they march in the school band and were subsequently selected to be a part of the Los Angeles Area High School Band, comprised of an elite group of students from various LA city high schools.
