TRAINER QUOTES SEAN McCARTHY, PRIVATE MISSION, WINNER: “I watched her break, and it was perfect. She never missed a step out of there, she left as good as you can leave out of there. When I saw that, you had to anticipate that Juan wouldn’t have any trouble getting to where he needed to be. It looked like Edwin (aboard Lady Mystify) was pretty intent on getting the lead and they set fair fractions. We were sitting in a perfect spot, and it was just a matter of whether they were good enough or not. It was nice to see Varda make a nice move at the 5/16th pole, and it looked like Drayden might’ve been loaded there and that those two would kick on down the lane, but she ran a gallant race to be third and I couldn’t ask for a better outcome.

“Private Mission had been training great and full credit to all the crew Jimmy and everyone. They have done a great job with her, and she’s come along well. She’s turned out well, she looks good. We passed a race up in New York to stay for this race, which ended up being the right decision, so it all worked out well today.”
