VICTOR ESPINOZA, RICHIES PARTY GIRL, WINNER: “I had never been on her before, but I decided if she broke sharply, I’d let her go. I was able to slow it down a little the first half mile and when we crossed the dirt at the top of the stretch, she had plenty left.”

JOE TALAMO, TOOWINDYTOHAULROX, 5-2 FAVORITE, SECOND: “My horse tried but he just got outrun today. I got right to the winner at the top of the stretch and the other horse just kept on going. He’s still a nice horse but it wasn’t his day today.”

BLAKE HEAP, WHO SADDLED RICHIES PARTY GIRL FOR TRAINER WESLEY WARD: “I thought she’d be pretty close to the lead. She’s fast, she looks fast; she just can’t run long. She was pricking her ears all the way. Down the backside she seemed pretty comfortable and she had plenty left to hold off the challenge through the lane.”

NOTES: The winning owners are Richard Raven and Wesley Ward. Heap said Ward was in Florida attending a track meet in which his son, Riley, was participating.
