PATRICK VALENZUELA, QUICK ENOUGH, WINNER: “This never gets old. Winning races at Santa Anita, where I started at, is unbelievable. It feels great and I’m very blessed to be here. I always knew I had horse in this race. I never hit my horse, I just hand rode him. He stuck his neck out there and put everything into the race. I was happy with the performance.”

DOUG O’NEILL, QUICK ENOUGH, WINNER: “We talked in the paddock just briefly, Patrick (Valenzuela) even mentioned it didn’t look like there was a lot of pace in here, so being on the inside he had to ask him to get good position. Patrick had it in his head he was going to be forwardly placed. That first quarter went so easy, he just had enough horse that was able to maintain that position (through the stretch).”

NOTES: The winning owners are Michael Bello of Newport Coast, Russ Sarno of Toluca Lake, and Pablo Suarez of Valencia, who races as Suarez Racing Inc.
