TEN DISTINGUISHED JUDGES NAMED FOR SANTA ANITA FILM FEST BO DEREK, TIM CONWAY JR. AMONG ARBITERS
ARCADIA, Calif. (April 1, 2012)—A distinguished panel of 10 judges has been assembled to review and select winners from Santa Anita and HRTV’s first-ever non-fiction documentary “A Day at the Races” Film Festival. All submissions are a maximum of five minutes in length and a complete review will get underway April 2, with winners to be announced on closing day, April 22.
Headed by film star and current CHRB board member Bo Derek, the panel also includes noted Los Angeles radio personality Tim Conway Jr., retired Hall of Fame jockey and current HRTV and NBC racing analyst Gary Stevens, Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith, HRTV Director of Brand Management Carolyn Conley, Santa Anita C.E.O. Mark Verge, multiple Eclipse Award winning producer and Santa Anita Director of Broadcasting Amy Zimmerman, Santa Anita President George Haines, Santa Anita Vice President of Sales and Marketing Chris Quinn and Santa Anita Director of Community Services and Special Projects, Pete Siberell.
“A Day at the Races” top prize will pay $10,000. Second place is worth $5,000 and the third place finisher will receive $3,000.
A “People’s Choice Award” will also be presented, with the winner receiving $10,000. Fans can vote on the “People’s Choice” at www.hrtv.com.
Winners from both contests will be announced at Santa Anita on April 22.
