ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2011) – Santa Anita will intersperse seven live races among its simulcast presentation of Friday’s opening day of the two-day Breeders’ Cup, racing’s championship event held this year at Churchill Downs.

With gates opening at 10 a.m. on Friday, the first of ten races from Churchill Downs will be shown at 11 a.m. Santa Anita’s first race will be run at 12:50 p.m. The first of the day’s six Breeders’ Cup races will be simulcast at 1:10 p.m.

The schedule for Friday’s Breeders’ Cup simulcast with local times:

Juvenile Sprint, 1:10 p.m.

Grade II Juvenile Fillies Turf, 1:50 p.m.

Grade I Filly & Mare Sprint, 2:30 p.m.

Grade I Juvenile Fillies, 3:10 p.m.

Grade I Filly & Mare Turf, 3:50 p.m.

Grade I Ladies’ Classic, 4:30 p.m.

Post time for the last of Santa Anita’s seven races is at 4:44 p.m.

A Pick Six will be offered on the six Breeders’ Cup races from Churchill Downs as well as a Pick Four on the final four Breeders’ Cup events. Santa Anita will offer its regular wagering schedule that includes a 50-cent Players’ Pick Five that begins with the first race.

Santa Anita will present ten live races, headed by the $65,000 Lure Stakes at one mile on turf, to complement Saturday’s nine Breeders’ Cup stakes races. Gates open at 8 a.m. on Saturday with the Churchill Downs card to begin at 9 a.m. and the first of the live races at Santa Anita scheduled for 10:40 p.m.
