(June 21, 2014)—Next to last into the Club House turn, Home Run Kitten finished like a rocket to prevail by three quarters of a length over Argyle Cut in Saturday’s $75,000 added Singletary Stakes run at one mile on turf. Ridden by Joe Talamo, the David Hofmans trainee sat behind fractions of 23.36, 46.33, 1:10.76 and 1:22.92 and finished up the mile in 1:34.89.

(June 20, 2014)—English-bred Rangi darted to the front and never looked back in taking Friday’s $60,000 feature, a second condition allowance at 6 ½ furlongs down Santa Anita’s hillside turf course. Trained by Richard Baltas and ridden for the first time by Kent Desormeaux, Rangi won by one length and got the distance in 1:12.86.

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) _ Obviously won the $400,000 Shoemaker Mile for the second straight year and Iotapa scored an upset, 10 ¼ length victory in the $300,000 Vanity Stakes, giving jockey Joe Talamo a sweep of the Grade 1 races as part of a four-win day at Santa Anita on Saturday.
