Another stakes win that is, as Gutierrez guided California-bred Wake Up Nick to a gutty three quarter length tally in the $125,000 Santa Anita Juvenile, as the chestnut colt by Cindago scurried 5 ½ furlongs in 1:04.28 while withstanding the late charge of Story to Tell and Joe Talamo.

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 21, 2014)—Jojo Warrior added blinkers for the first time in her five-race career and responded with a dominating 5 ¼ length win in Saturday’s Grade II, $200,000 Summertime Oaks at Santa Anita. Trained by Bob Baffert and ridden by Martin Garcia, the 3-year-old filly by Pioneerof the Nile got 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.09 following fractions of 23.25, 46.61, 1:10.78 and 1:36.38.

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 21, 2014)—Next to last into the Club House turn, Home Run Kitten finished like a rocket to prevail by three quarters of a length over Argyle Cut in Saturday’s $75,000 added Singletary Stakes run at one mile on turf. Ridden by Joe Talamo, the David Hofmans trainee sat behind fractions of 23.36, 46.33, 1:10.76 and 1:22.92 and finished up the mile in 1:34.89.

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 20, 2014)—English-bred Rangi darted to the front and never looked back in taking Friday’s $60,000 feature, a second condition allowance at 6 ½ furlongs down Santa Anita’s hillside turf course. Trained by Richard Baltas and ridden for the first time by Kent Desormeaux, Rangi won by one length and got the distance in 1:12.86.

(June 15, 2014)—With 4-5 favorite My Sweet Addiction drifting out badly turning for home, longshot Sagebrush Queen shot through a large opening at the rail a quarter mile out and went on to win Sunday’s $75,000 added Desert Stormer Stakes at Santa Anita by one length, covering six furlongs under Edwin Maldonado in 1:09.75.

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) _ Obviously won the $400,000 Shoemaker Mile for the second straight year and Iotapa scored an upset, 10 ¼ length victory in the $300,000 Vanity Stakes, giving jockey Joe Talamo a sweep of the Grade 1 races as part of a four-win day at Santa Anita on Saturday.
